PhD Position in Medical Image Analysis for Knee Surgery

Improve patient outcomes and contribute to the future of image-based surgery!

A PhD position is available at Polytechnique Montreal to develop cutting-edge machine-learning algorithms for medical image analysis. You will develop an expertise at the intersection of machine learning, computer vision, and healthcare. This exciting project focuses on improving the accuracy and reproducibility of knee surgery by creating innovative image-based tools for surgeons, including precise assessment of knee morphology, prosthesis position, and joint alignment.
You will develop novel geometry-based machine learning methods to:

➤ Develop generative algorithms for 3D reconstruction of knee anatomy.

➤ Automate reproducible measurements of knee morphology, prosthesis position, and joint alignment.

➤ Learn quantitative indices of prosthetic positioning for predicting surgical outcomes.

➤ Facilitate prosthetic follow-up by evaluating post-operative joint alignments.

➤ Collaborate with a clinical and industry partner to translate research into real-world solutions.

Candidate Profile:
